Happy Birthday Stu

Made this latest card for my brother whose birthday is today. I saw this fold on Create & Craft and wrote all the instructions down, however it took me a few attempts before I got it to lie flat so it would go in an envelope. I think this is called a 'step' card and they seem to be very popular at the moment.
The cardstock as usual all came from my stash. Firstly I marked out where I had to cut/score and then cut the card. Next I randomly stamped the stop watches and compasses, these stamps came from a Clear Choice stamp set that I've had for years. Then I masked them and stamped over the entire card with a script stamp from Hero Arts. Finally I traced around some chipboard letters I have (but am too scared to use incase I need them!) and stuck the name to the folds in the card. I added an eyelet and brads to the letters before sticking them to the card to make it look slightly more masculine. Didn't have any Navy brads so used a Teal colour and went over them with a Navy permamarker!

Was quite pleased with how this turned out. Hope you like it too.

  1. I think that card is cute, must of took alot of time to get the folds right. If I was your brother and I recieved that card I would be so happy.

  5. Fantastic card Fiona, I love step cards and I saw this fold a while back too and then totally forgot to try it out when I still remembered the measurements so thanks for the reminder! It's a really fab masculine card, love your letters with their brads and the clock stamped background. You aren't alone at not using things like chipboard, I have a little stash of my own :D.
