Ready Steady Stamp!

Sad news on the Ready Steady Stamp blog this week. Due to a lack of entries in their challenges they may end their blog, which is so disappointing as I really look forward to it each time. The challenges are a bit different to most others and they really get you thinking. So come on, if you haven't entered before....give it a go!

These are the required items to use in your project this time.

At last we have had some sunshine so I managed to get an outside shot of my card and (hopefully) a better picture.

As the project was to have a Bird theme I remembered I had this birdhouse template which my friend Eunice gave me a while back and thought it would be nice to use it. The green base card came from my stash and the floral paper used for the roof was printed from an Artylicious CDRom, Fantasy Floral. The frame was made from corrugated cardboard ( I don't know what foam core is) and covered with paper I had stamped with a Hero Arts stamp- Branch Background. The birds were stamped from a set by Inkadinkado and embossed with holographic EP but the sparkle is not evident in this snap. I added some punched flowers/leaves using pearlised paper, which were shaped and the flowers inked around the edges. (again not visible in this picture unless you click on it.) Pearls and a gem finished them off.

Thanks for taking the time to look and I hope you like it.

  2. This is just gorgeous Fiona and such a beautiful and perfect shape for the challenge.
I'm hoping to start on my entry shortly once I locate some thick cardboard as no foam core to be had here.
I shall be really upset if RSS closes as I really enjoy the challenges as they're the most truly arty around.
I also want to say thanks so much for the award from earlier. I haven't been online as much due to uni interviews with my daughter and too much work!
    Hugs, Fliss xx

  3. Another winner Fiona such a pretty bird box. I do hope some more people join in the challenges as I know how much you enjoy them.

Hope this won't come up twice as the gremlins took over.

  4. Oooh I really love this - it is gorgeous! Great idea to use the bird house. I managed to get some foam board from a local stationer, they sell it in huge sheets, or packs of 5 A4 sheets (which I bought). It is a very lightweight board about the same thickness as Stampbord, it is a piece of rigid foam (rather than the soft squashy sort if you know what I mean) and is covered both sides with some sort of paper/thin card which is slightly glossy. I'm sure it was featured in a project in Craft Stamper some time ago... but I can't find it now!!
