New Home with Buttons

I made another card for LIM's Ribbon/Button challenge last night as I wasn't sure if my first card was CAS enough, however I've received a plethora of favourable comments from LIMette's so maybe it is? Thanks girls! This one is for my cousin Paul who is moving house at the end of the week but after I'd finished it I did wonder if it was a bit too girly for a bloke, he'll be getting it anyway as I have a few birthday cards to make for August before I go back to work on Wednesday :(

I used SU's Good Neighbours set for the house and the tree trunks came from Trendy Tree's. I found some buttons in my stash to make the tree tops and tied some linen thread through them. Versafine Vintage Sepia and Blue Lagoon inks were used and I mounted the white card onto a dark brown piece. The sentiment (which should be slightly more to the left) is by Rachelle Anne Miller. The high standard set on this challenge is making me more critical of my own cards but I don't have time to redo it. People to see and places to go, hey ho.

Thanks for sparing the time to look.

Rub-on's and Ribbon

Hello All,

I've had a very busy week having a new boiler fitted so I've had workmen here 4 days in all and the house looked like a bomb had hit it. Thankfully they are gone now, the house has some semblance of order and I'm very pleased with the new boiler and hoping my fuel bills will be a lot smaller now. (The last boiler was installed circa 1975 !.)

Anyway enough of all that, I made this card last night for my cousin who celebrates her first wedding anniversary next weekend. I wanted it to be green as that was her colour theme at the wedding and I also wanted to use some ribbon which was tied around the napkins at the reception. (Also used in a card a few posts back)

It's a very simple card and I used Rub-on's for the greeting so I could enter it into CAS-ual Friday's latest challenge - Here's the Rub. I always look at LIM's challenge first thing on a Saturday morning and this week it's Ribbon/Buttons so I can enter this card there also.

I used a new embossing folder called Dandelion Whisper which I bought at the Newbury show. Think I will do another card for LIM as I'm not sure this one is 'less' enough. No time today though as I need to make a Banoffee Pie this afternoon for my SIL's 40th birthday party tonight and then I will have to tart myself up..... will there be enough time???

Thanks for all your lovely comments last week, not only to me but also to my niece Em.

Em's Best Card Yet

Hi,
Today I came round to my auntys and I made a card for my mums 40th b-day next week.
I made the roses with a die cut which I then put through the cuttlebug and the other elements were made in the same way. I embossed a trelis pannel on aunty Fi's majestic board. I then decided where to put them all and stuck it down with stickey fixers and glue.

I think this is my best card yet and I really like it. I am going to enter my first challenge , CHALLENGE UP YOUR LIFE, where the theme is tent cards.

I hope you like it.

Em (I am 11)

P.s Prudy's bum is also in the picture. HA ,HA

Going Round in Circles

.......is what I did last week for the LIM challenge of Legs. I did try, honestly Chrissie and Mandi but several efforts got lobbed across the room in disgust and eventually I thought I'd give my creative bent (not!) a rest for a week as it obviously wasn't coming naturally!

This week the theme is.......
Please note that this is in the plural... we need to see more than one circle

.....and I'm much happier with my creation, but what do you think?

The main image was a freebie with Craft Stamper and I stamped her in Imperial Purple Versafine then masked her with a Post-It. Then I applied Old Paper D.I. with Cut n Dry through a stencil cut with my largest circular nestie, and some sequin waste. The sentiment is a new one which I bought at Newbury a fortnight ago and is by Kaiser Craft. I chomped off a couple of corners to give it a 'contemporary' feel.

I have 10 days off work now... Yippee, but am having a new boiler installed this week so the house will be in chaos. It may be some time before I'm back in my craft room.

Until then, t
hank you for looking and for any comments you are kind enough to leave.

Feeling Blue

....about my latest entry for LIM's current challenge,
SHADES of BLUE.
I don't think I'm firing on all cylinders creatively at the moment and not very happy with this effort. It had to be made in somewhat of a hurry as although I have been off for the last two days I have been out for both of them and am back to work this afternoon.. Yesterday I was at the Art Stamps Exhibition at Newbury, you'd have thought I'd have picked up some inspiration there wouldn't you, so many gorgeous creations to gaze at.
Anyway, here is my feeble effort this week.

Not my greatest photography moment either but had to be guided by the sun, and although the dark blue mat doesn't look even on all sides which is caused by shadows, it really has been cut accurately, honest!
The happy birthday definition stamp is by Hero Arts and is quite a new acquisition, I think the butterfly die is by Sissix but not entirely sure. The butterfly is vellum and embossed in an embossing folder. I used a blue brad in the centre and some ric-rac I found in my stash which was the perfect colour match.

Thanks for looking, must dash, got to get ready for work now.
