The Fittie on the Train

I'm back with a card for this week's Less Is More challenge which is Thank You - One Layer

I used Leafy background stamp (can't remember whose but probably Hero Arts)  DI -Old Paper,  Memento ink Pistachio and white EP.  Sentiment by Stampin Up.

I need to get a wriggle on and make some more xmas cards, I don't know why but I just don't get the same enjoyment or satisfaction making them.  Maybe because there are so many to produce it feels like a chore.  One year I sent shop bought cards as I'd just moved house and my craft stash was still packed in boxes....I got complaints!   Oh well I suppose it's nice to be appreciated.

Yesterday I went to see Philomena in Brighton with my friend Debbie.  Before the screening we had a wander around the eclectic North Laine area where we saw this amazing graffiti.

Quite what the connection is between James Brown...

....and gun-toting Smurfs, I fail to see.

Maybe there is none ?  We did discuss how we thought the artists were inspired, illegal substancess came up once or twice.  After all how many iconic artist(e)s produced some of their best work after expanding their consciousness?

I just love North Laine, there is such a buzzy vibe. I would have loved to stay longer in order to get some candid shots, but know what a huge drag it is for others, having to stop every ten seconds for yet another bloody photo.

Awaiting me tonight is a monumental pile of ironing and Strictly.
Rock and roll!
What's awaiting you ?

  6. That graffiti is amazing, I love it! One of Walsall's famous son's is Goldie and there's still lots of his work around the town centre (but nothing on such a massive scale).
Your cards are always gorgeous! x

  8. I always love seeing your cards, Fiona, you'd never know it wasn't made with love at all! Perhaps you could make some and buy some, it seems a shame to feel under pressure to make all your cards if you're not loving it at the moment.
Haven't been to Brighton in years, it sounds fab, and that street art is amazing. xxxxx

  12. I'm not surprised you don't enjoy making your own Xmas cards, it takes forever!
I fancy Philomena, would you recommend it? Judy Dench is always good isn't she?
I'm amazed at these murals in Brighton, when I saw the pics I thought it must be Northern Ireland. I haven't been to Brighton for years, it sounds like it is really lively. xxx

  13. Oh a gorgeous card Fiona - I love the shadowing. The graffiti is amazing isn't it and although I'd love to be able to point out the connection between JB and the smurfs, I'm forced to agree there was probably a bit of mind-bending going on! You're brave to go and see Philomena - I'm frightened that if I watch it I'll cry so much I'll end up like Richard Briggs' snowman! I had to see Ender's Game instead! And anyway, WHAT fittie and WHAT train?!!! Vicky x
