Following a recent craft and natter afternoon with my friend Eunice, I was pleased to discover I have now made two thirds of my xmas cards, so whilst I'd rather be scouring the chazza's and junk shops I've been pressing on and here is a recent card of mine which I'm entering in the following challenges.
Less Is More - Sparkle
Just Add Ink - Star
Stampin For The Weekend - Feeling Festive
(excuse the photo quality, the lens on my DSLR is broken so it's back to the point and press temporarily)
I created a star frame with Xcut dies on red card and heat embossed it with red sparkly EP, not satisfied with the resulting sparkle I further added a bucketful of red glitter....man, did it get everywhere! A Hero Art sentiment and a gingham bow completed this simple card. I mentioned in a previous post that I'm not feeling the crafting love this year and feel totally uninspired. Not that it's just cards I can't get excited about you understand, I've got a Christmas 'do' to attend next week with my work colleagues and I'm trying to muster up some enthusiasm about that too, blimey I sound like a right old misery don't I? Is anyone else feeling a distinct lack of Christmas cheer?
I'm going to bog off now as I've nothing cheerful to say and I really don't want to become one of those blog whingers. A humungous pile of ironing and the Strictly results show await. Have a good week folks.
FABulous & festive. Hugs Bev x
ReplyDeleteYou might not be feeling Christmassy, but your card is looking lovely despite it! I hope that the spirit will come to you, and as you say, enjoy Strictly in the meantime! Hope that you have a good week. xx
ReplyDeleteGorgeous and very dynamic card love that star. I'm another misery guts in the Christmas department so know exactly how you feel and I haven't made one single card !!!! Looks like i might be buying mine this year !

Hello
ReplyDeleteFabulous card.... Love the Glitz......
Hugs Sylviexxx
I never feel particularly Christmassy this early - it's only Dec 1st! I get a bit more into it nearer the day, when most of the hard work is done, but at this stage? Nah, it's a big old pain in the bum! That said, your card is very pretty, as always. Tell me about the glitter - my heart sinks when the kids want to use it... You know, with me being so house proud and all!
ReplyDeleteIroning and Strictly results - snap! xxxxx
This is lovely, Fiona. The sparkle, and the gingham bow - too sweet. Thanks for playing along with our challenge at Just Add Ink this week.
ReplyDeleteThis is fab Fiona and I love that sentiment!
ReplyDeleteThanks so much
Chrissie
Less is More
That sparkle loaded star frame is just fabulous Fiona (glitter does get everywhere but its usually worth it ;). Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteClean & Sparkly, just perfect for Christmas! I too love that sentiment..:0) Thanks for joining us at Just Add Ink.
ReplyDeleteA lovely card Fiona & extremely sparkly lol. Give it a couple of weeks & the Christmas spirit should creep up on you

That card is gorgeous, well done for knuckling down and getting them done.
ReplyDeleteChristmas? Can't be arsed. I get less bothered as the years progress. I'm an atheist, I hate enforced jollity and people feeling obliged to rack up debt and stuff themselves stupid celebrating something akin to a fairy tale. there, said it! xxx
Great card loving the red sparkle

Fabulous card Fiona, love the sparkle and what a great little sentiment. xx
ReplyDeleteSo nice!! :))
ReplyDeleteGreetings from germany Elisabeth
Got my work's christmas do at lunchtime today. Groan. Especially as we get to go back to work afterwards. And I'll probably get soap from Secret Santa! :D Very impressed that you are so far underway with making your beautiful Xmas cards. I haven't even thought about BUYING mine yet! Moan all you like I say! xxx
ReplyDeleteGod, I hate Xmas. Agree wholeheartedly with Vix's comments! Lovely card though (the photo quality looks fine to me). I like a bit of glitter but I'm so glad that my daughter doesn't bother with it anymore (too busy playing on her phone) coz the last time she did, we had glitter all over the sofa. And when I say all over I mean ALL OVER. *Shudder*. xx
ReplyDeleteThis is a very simple design but I think the layers and sparkly glitter really make it pretty Chantell JAI
ReplyDeleteFelt a sprinkle of Christmas cheer after the fair, but that seems to have worn off! Don't know when I'm going to get round to cards - had talked about making a few with the kids after going a bit card kit crazy in a craft shop the other day. Will probably end up buying cards, or just not bother at all. How bah humbug is that! Your star card is lovely, and so impressed you've made two thirds already. Hope work do exceeds expectations x
ReplyDeleteI love that big sparkly star! Gorgeous card, Thanks for joining us this week at Just Add Ink :)
ReplyDeleteThis CAS design really grabs the eye. Wonderfully done! :-)
ReplyDeleteI like how you have made your bright cheery star, full of red sparkles. Thanks for joining in with our challenge this week at Just Add Ink.

Fantastic card Fiona and the glitter mess was definitely worth! You are so good getting so many of your cards done, I've yet to make even a small dent in mine! That thing on my card was a clay flower LOL! Chris x
