Scavenger Hunt - January

I'm pleased to be linking to Greenthumb's Scavenger Hunt again this year, I missed the last few months.  To be honest the recent weather hasn't been up to much picture taking, so some of the following are from the archives.
Here are my snaps for JANUARY'S list.

Whatever you want

I recently found this photo at dad's house, taken of mum and I on the occasion of my parents ruby wedding anniversary in 2001.  I'm not sure I'd seen it before but it's a nice one of us both I think.
She is very much missed.

Thanks as always to Greenthumb for hosting and please do take a squizz at the other link ups....you can find them here.

But The Picture Has A Moustache

Inspired by Vicky at Blush Crafts, I thought I'd whip up a quick bloke's card for the latest challenges at Less Is More (sketch) & Addicted to CAS (World)
...here it is.

Following Vicky's tutorial I fashioned a moustache and attached it to a panel cut from a charity shop map.  The sentiment was hand written due to my inability to move the margins on my computer.  It's a quick card today as I have much to do.....tax return, French translation and most importantly, knitting!

Whilst dashing round Aldi last week I saw this mahoosive ball of Aran yarn (a wool mix) for just £3.69 which promptly went into my trolley and an idea was hatched.  On the way home I dived into our local needlework shop and purchased a pair of wooden needles which I'd heard were the dog's whatsits for knitting....and indeed they are.  I taught myself to cast on from a YouTube tutorial (Deramores, I thought yours was crap) as even though I could knit I could never do the casting on bit.(hangs head in shame)  Anyways the plan is to knit a cowl, snood,...(call it what you like) because heaven knows I haven't got enough scarves already!  I'm really enjoying knitting and with this easy stitch I can even manage it whilst watching the telly.  I'm hoping it will be completed in the next couple of weeks...yeah well, one can hope.

I managed a little chazzing this week also...

a few more books at 25p each.

And a large pasta dish, not vintage, but jolly useful.

So that was my week, how has yours been ?  Must dash folks, I've got some knitting to get back to.

Oh Why Can't We Talk Again?

I'm feeling smug today, the hotpot was in the slow cooker by 0745 and a tray of flapjacks in the oven not much later.  Time to get creative with paper methinks.  The card stash was getting on the low side so I thought I'd create one for a few challenges this week.  No time for anything too elaborate as Dad will be arriving for Sunday lunch soon....he's off on his big adventure to Oz, NZ and Singapore later this week....lucky old him!  Here's what I did.

Items used were - Hobbycraft retro telephone stamp, Versafine inkpad, Cuttlebug border embossing folder. The sentiment was computer generated and the speech bubble drawn by myself.

Apologies for dreadful photo, the light is terrible today even with a daylight bulb and we're both fed up with this gloomy weather!

Thank you for all the lovely comments left last week, I was very touched that you hadn't forgotten me!
