It Only Takes A Camera To Change her Mind

It's been around a year since I last put in a personal appearance so I thought it was time to show myself and besides, Tania said she wanted to see me in my new-to-me waistcoat.

This was taken on Boxing Day.  I went to see family in Kent and thought I should wear something vaguely festive.  Red is a favourite with me at any time of year.

It's a real palaver trying to get a few snaps without your own personal photographer!  The sun was bright so the light was good, but at that time of day it created shadows, of me, the tripod and camera... it also caused me to squint.

Trying to get a close up by remote control is a mare.  I positioned the tripod badly, so in some shots I've lost the top of my head, then the remote control thing played up and the shutter closed before I was in shot.

The bloody thing was so temperamental ..... probably down to inactivity in previous months, I nearly gave up !

Finally with sunnies in place, I got some snaps that weren't too bad.

Attempting all of this whilst trying to avoid the scrutiny of the neighbours so they don't think that you are a narcissistic fool is no mean feat I can tell you!  Now you understand why I rarely feature on this blog!

  1. Haha! You crack me up, my attempts at the self timer are always a disaster, hooray for Jon!
I love that Welsh Tapestry waistcoat, that's got to be the best colour combination I've seen yet. I don't even think my friend Tina has any of that in her archive.
    Those red clogs are wonderful.
More photos of you, please! xxxx

  2. You're looking really festive in that Welsh tapistry waistcoat, and I'll be on the lookout for some red clogs! Love your self timer attempts, which made me smile. I'm so lucky to have my personal photographer, as I think I would be headless most of the time ... Oh, and I've now got Kraftwerk playing in my head, which I don't mind at all: great post title! xxx

    1. It would be wonderful to have my own Mr Suave, it would save time and I wouldn't feel quite such an idiot prancing around in front of the garage. xx

  4. Ha ha,I had to come over to your blog to see your camera problems. Been there, done that. As the timer never focusses right either, I much prefer my husband to take the pictures. Especially because he has a creative eye. Unfortunately ge also gets into a bad mood quickly when he takes my pictures as he doesn't really like doing it.
    Thanks for the fun.

    1. Thanks Greetje. You are lucky to have Ron even if he is a bad tempered photographer. Tangling with a tripod is a pain. x

  8. Yes I jolly well did! And I'm thrilled to see you in it like the model that you are! You look fab and now that you've mastered ;) the self timer, I hope we'll see you more often (that's a special request) although the whole neighbour thing is a nightmare, I grant you. Red is your colour and that waistcoat is stunning. Xxxx

    1. Thanks Tania. I'll try to put in an appearance more often, but often I've had good intentions and then it's all such a performance that I can't be bothered. Must try harder Fiona! ..Now where have I heard that before?
