Anything Goes With Lots Of Layers

It's another craft post from me as I braved the craft room this weekend to make a few more cards....I really need to have a blitz in there!
The first two are similar in design and were intended to be one layer as I masked off the surround.  All was going well until I smudged a tiny amount of black ink onto the white area!  I've lost count of the times I have done this...you'd think I'd learn.  However I managed to salvage the card by cutting around the design and mounting it onto a clean card...after first washing my hands!  The image of the second card was made using the back of the card blank that I'd spoiled.

Stamps used: Wee Foliage - Clarity Stamps
                     sentiment - Inkylicious
Inks : Tim Holtz Distress Inks & Versafine

I'm linking my card to the following challenges
Addicted To Stamps & More - Anything Goes/Clean & Simple

From clean and simple it's anything but for the Sweet Stampin' Challenge
where they want to see Lots of Layers... the more the better.  I count seven here.

Stamps used: sentiment - Paula Pascual
Can't remember where the foliage came from...it's a rectangular background stamp and I cut around the individual sprigs...Possibly Hero Arts.

Also linking up with Sum Of Their Stories for Handmade Monday #58.

In other news Bess, the cat I've been fostering for the last three months (seen HERE) was adopted at the weekend.  I'm so sorry to see her go as she's a gorgeous girl, so very affectionate, but of course I'm thrilled that she has a lovely permanent home now.  As of this morning, Pickle is now in residence, another black and white moggie, so far we seem to be rubbing along together fairly well.

 Isn't she a sweetie?

Thanks for reading and have a good week.

  1. How lovely that Bess has a new home! I am sure that Pickle will be happy with you for now too. Lovely cards as well of course. Just to let you know that I am sort of back blogging.

  2. You did a good job salvaging that card. I'd hate to think how many cards clumsy me would ruin ... It's lovely to hear that Bess has gone to a permanent home. I can imagine you miss her. Pickle looks like an absolute heartbreaker! Have a lovely week! xxx

  4. A trio of loveliness, Fiona ... the masking and blending on the silhouette cards is just beautiful ... and who'd have thought there were seven layers on that last card, it's so deliciously crisp, clean and delicate ... so pretty! Thanks so much for your visit and kind words! Anita :)

  5. I'm more of a dog person than a cat person but oh my what a gorgeous cat Pickle is! Such beautiful eyes...

Loved your cards, so professional looking. Do you find you get as much satisfaction from making cards as you do from crocheting? I'm curious as I'm a one trick pony - crochet and nothing else in the craft department!

    1. I've been making cards for about 20 yrs now Veronica and I think I always will, but I do have fits and starts and sometimes go months without picking up a stamp. I think I'm more proud of my crochet creations though.xx

  6. Pickle looks sweet! Great name too, but must have been a bit hard to see Bess go. Think you're brilliant to do the fostering. Love your cards as always. I'm also struggling to take decent photos inside because of the poor light. Have way too many dark, grainy ones xx

    1. Hi Tracey
Yes isn't the winter a pain for photography? The sun made an appearance today so grabbed the camera to capture my latest make.
Pickle is very playful and a great time waster! Xxx
