I'm going great guns with the crochet and so far have done this many granny squares,
I can tell you're impressed. But rummaging around in my bag for my ever elusive wool needle was getting on my wick, what I needed was a needle case. I thought 'how hard can it be to make one?' and after some researching on the interweb I went for it with some scraps of felt and buttons I had lying around in my craft room.
The stitching is about as straight as a dogs hind leg (I'm useless without a stripe in the fabric to follow) but apart from that I don't think it's too shabby so I'm linking to Lakota's Ta Dah Tuesday.
I've a busy time this week, today I saw an old friend for a long overdue catch-up. We met in Costa's, blimey the prices! Won't be going there again in a hurry. Tomorrow I'm meeting more friends for lunch in Prezzo (got a money- off voucher!) and Thursday it's Stitch and Bitch followed by a pub lunch with Dad and the rellies. The weather continues to be arctic and it's all folk are talking about. Must go and do some housework now, maybe charging around with the hoover will warm me up.

Fiona, your needle case is definitely not shabby. I love it! Clever you. The crochet is looking good too. I learnt about 2 years ago, crocheted a few squares and I've now forgotten how to do it *raises eyes to heaven*. xx
ReplyDeleteThat's a gorgeous needle case and I'm very impressed with your crochet. Hope the Hoovering warms you up and the weather plays nicely and allows you to go forth and have fun! xxx
ReplyDeleteYou bloody smarty pants! O HWNE will I get my shizzer together and learn to crochet!! Your squares are looking marvellous! Love the needle case too, so pretty. XXX
ReplyDeleteYour granny squares look lovely and the needle case is just gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteThanks for your comment which cheered me up no end especially the pot, kettle, black bit lol
Hope you have a lovely lunch and rest of week too.
Fliss xx
Looks perfect to me and love the purple/green combo. Great gs bundle too - my daughter counted mine at the weekend and sadly I haven't crocheted nearly as many as I thought! Hope you enjoy the rest of your week, sounds fun x
ReplyDeleteYour needle case is beautiful! I made a similar one with vintage fuzzy felts but nowhere near as good as this! x
ReplyDeleteThe stitching looks just fine to me, Fiona, and the case is so pretty - very you, it's like the little cards you sent me.
ReplyDeleteHoovering won't warm you up, you need to sit in front of the fire with a hot toddy! xxx
Oh, this is very different, great project and so useful. Mind you go careful with that odd warming device. xx Flora
ReplyDeleteWhat a pretty, as well as practical, needle case. When I was at school (many years ago) we had to make these in 'sewing' class, but nothing as pretty as this.
ReplyDeleteYou're the second person whose post mentions housework as a method of warming up today - perhaps I ought to try it, as the house could definitely do with a once over before mother-in-law descends for dinner this evening!
ReplyDeleteSweet case and I am indeed impressed with your granny squares! Learning to crochet is on my rather massive to do list..I just love granny square blankets! Nice to meet ya :)
ReplyDeleteLovely needle case and your stitching is perfect. Love the crochet too, something I have never been able to do! xx
ReplyDeleteOooh, I love this!! I want one too. Actually, I am impressed with all your granny squares!
