Scavenger Hunt - February

Hello!  Where has February gone?  We're almost at it's end but I don't seem to have accomplished much during it.  Although I have done quite a bit of spring cleaning and tidying of cupboards which is quite satisfying.  I have however had time to take a few snaps for this month's Scavenger Hunt,  you can check out other bloggers interpretations HERE.

White

The heavy fragrance of these white (Aldi!) Longi lilies pervades the air of the sitting room currently, while in the conservatory this hyacinth provides an intoxicating scent.

Metal/Metallic

The metal behind the paintwork on this vintage Vespa is evident after decades of wear and tear.

Camouflage

There's a frog in there somewhere.

Junk Mail

This sample is what dropped through my letterbox during one day, so imagine how much waste is accumulated over the course of one year!  Honestly, my recycling bin is full of the stuff.... but frustratingly we know that not everybody bothers to recycle.
I don't know about you, but I certainly wouldn't employ one of these businesses because they posted a leaflet through my door, I rely on a personal recommendation before engaging anybody.

But what really outraged me this week was when I arrived home from work to find a magazine of mobility solutions on my doormat!  How very dare they!  I am only fifty five and a half!
Now what would 'make my life easier' is if their magazine and all other junk mail f*cked right off!

Bud

I was rewarded, after walking all around the village hoping to find a camellia for this one!

My own choice

Here's Pickle (my current foster cat) posing for her website photo....it was obviously her best side as someone has shown interest in her and we're hopeful that she'll be moving to a lovely new forever home in the not too distant future.

Big thanks to Kate at I live I love I craft for hosting this monthly link up, I'm looking forward to seeing next month's list soon.

    1. Perhaps I should be grateful, so far I've not received funeral package mail!

  3. Some lovely photos especially the one of Pickle! Great news if she has a new forever home although I expect you’ll miss her. I’m guessing it won’t be long before you have another cat to foster!

  4. I can almost smell the scent from your gorgeous 'white' photographs and go along with your feelings about junk mail though we never get that amount thankfully. But best of all is Pickle. So glad she has a forever home to go to and am sure she will make someone very happy.

  6. Your photos are brilliant, and I'm so glad the portrait of Pickles looks like it has landed her a forever home.

Glad I am not the only one who won't buy from companies that carpet-bomb us with leaflets.

  7. Your Lily photographs are stunning, Fiona! But I'm loving the Vespa too. Ugh, junk mail! We can put a sticker on our letterbox, indicating that we don't want to receive junk mail, which is followed up quite well. That mobility solutions magazine would have outraged me too. I'm regularly getting ads for things like assisted housing on my Facebook which *** me off too. Aw, isn't Pickle gorgeous! And posing so willingly too ... xxx

    1. So kind Ann. I notice in France that nearly every residence has Pas de pub on their letterbox, I should try it I suppose.

  8. Lovely photos, especially white, camouflage and own choice. Like you I'm really irritated by junk mail and also 'bits' in newspapers and magazines, the paper recycle bin is always full of them. Oh, dear we get leaflets for retirement complexes and funeral plans!:)

  9. Good news about Pickle!

The flowers are gorgeous and how beautiful is that Camelia bud? I used to hate the smell of hyacinths: I bought some in January in a mixed bunch of flowers and the smell was heavenly.

I feel exactly the same way as you do about the junk mail; interestingly yours seemed to be mostly about garden and garden services. Mine is usually Farmfoods and Budgens and double glazing companies - I could go on.

And as for mobility aids have you had the 'older' woman fashion brochures yet? Pastel cardigans and elastic waist midi skirts with very sensible shoes. They make me snarl....

Hope you have a great weekend.

    1. No I haven't had the granny fashion brochures yet but my neighbour does put her 'People's Friend' through my letter box every week! Haven't the heart to tell her that I'm not quite ready for that yet! xx

  11. Great photos, & funny how some of us get "vehicles" into our hunt. Must rub off from our partners.(giggle) As for junk mail, which is my pet hate too, we have a plaque on our letter box, which says NO JUNK MAIL & guess what? We don't get any. Pickles is so cute. Thanks & take care.

Ahhhhh, the 'make life easier' mailings. -chuckle- Be prepared! "They" have Lists! Which tell when we reach certain ages. And the Crap-O-La mails start coming. Be prepared for lots and lots of Hearing Aids mails too. -grin- Just sayin'.......

    Courage!
